From 8-9 October, 2019, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Cuong paid a working visit to Myanmar. During the visit, Deputy Minister Nguyen Quoc Cuong met with Permanent Secretary of Myanmar's Union Ministry of Foreign Affairs U Soe Han. Vietnam Ambassador to Myanmar Luan Thuy Duong also attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the two sides expressed satisfaction over the developments in cooperation between the two countries in recent years, especially since the establishment of the Comprehensive Cooperative Partnership in 2017.
The two sides also discussed the measures to strengthen the bilateral relations in the coming time, including the co-organization of activities to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2020.
