On August 14, 2023, the Government of Viet Nam issued Resolution No.127/NQ-CP on application of Electronic visas for citizens of countries and territories; international checkpoints allowing foreigners to enter and exit by electronic visas. Accordingly, the Government granted issueing electronic visas to citizens of all countries and territories.

I. List of international border gates that allow to enter and exit by electronic includes:

13 air border gates

- Noi Bai Airport border gates;

- Tan Son Nhat Airport border gates;

- Cam Ranh Airport border gates;

- Da Nang Airport border gates;

- Cat Bi Airport border gates;

- Can Tho Airport border gates;

- Phu Quoc Airport border gates;

- Phu Bai Airport border gates;

- Van Don Airport border gates;

- Tho Xuan Airport border gates;

- Dong Hoi Airport border gates;

- Phu Cat Airport border gates;

- Lien Khuong Airport border gates.

16 road border gates

- Tay Trang international border gates, Dien Bien province;

- Mong Cai international border gates, Quang Ninh province;

- Huu Nghi international border gates, Lang Son province;

- Lao Cai international border gates, Thanh Hoa province;

- Na Meo international border gates, Thanh Hoa province;

- Nam Can international border gates, Nghe An province;

- Cau Treo international border gates, Ha Tinh province;

This Resolution takes effect from August 15, 2023, replacing Resolution No.79/NQ-CP dated May 25, 2020 and Resolution No.60/NQ-CP dated April 27, 2021.

II. The duration of Viet Nam's electronic visa is lengthened, from maximum of 30 days with single entry, to maximum of 90 days with single or multiple entry (ies).

According to Article 2 of the Law amending and supplementing the Law on entry and exit of the Viet Namese Citizens and the Law on entry, exit, transit and residence of Foreigers in Viet Nam, from August 15, 2023, the term of electronic visa (or - evisa), labeled as EV) is lengthened maximum of 30 days with single entry, to maximum of 90 days with single or multiple entry (ies).

Duration of temporary residence for citizens of 13 countries that are unilaterally exempted from visas has been extended to 45 days. 

On August 14, 2023, the Viet Nam Government issued Resolution No.128/NQ-CP amending Resolution No.32/NQ-CP dated May 15, 2022 on visa exemption for citizens of severals countries. Specifically, Resolution No.128/NQ-CP amends Article 1 of No.32/NQ-CP dated May 15, 2022 as follows:

Visa requirements are exempted for citizens the following countries: Russia, Japan, Korea, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, United Kingdom of Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Belarus with a temporary residence duration of 45 days from the date of entry, provided that all entry conditions according to Vietnamese Law are meet.

Thus, compared to Resolution No.32/NQ-CP dated May 15, 2022, the temporary residence duration for citizens of the above countries will be increased from 15 days to 45 days.

Resolution No.128/NQ-CP take seffect from August 15, 2023.
