From 14 to 21, October 2018, a delegation from the Department of Economics, Ministry of Defence headed by Deputy Director General Pham Van Nam, paid a working visit to Myanmar.

During the visit, the delegation had meetings with Myanmar Ministry of Commerce, the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, and the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI). On 18 October, 2018, the delegation visited the Embassy of Viet Nam in Myanmar.

The Deputy Director General of the Department of Economics Pham Van Nam reported briefly to the Vietnam Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Dr. Luan Thuy Duong about the activities of the delegation in Myanmar, with the aim to promote investment and trade promotion activities in the military field with Myanmar. He also expressed his hope that the Embassy will continue to support the delegation in connecting with Myanmar partners.

Ambassador Luan Thuy Duong briefed the delegation on the socio-economic development of Myanmar, the milestones of the Vietnam-Myanmar relations as well as the activities of the Embassy in promoting the bilateral relations.

Ambassador Luan Thuy Duong also stated that the Embassy will continue to support the delegation to realize the fruitful outcomes of the visit.
